Castelldefels, Barcelona (Spain), November 9-11, 2009
The 2009 IN3-HAROSA Workshop aims to be an open and international forum for disseminating recent advances in the fields of “Hybrid Algorithms for solving Realistic rOuting, Scheduling and reliability/Availability problems” (HAROSA).
In addition to a technical program, this workshop provides the central meeting place for all members of the IN3-HAROSA Knowledge Community. The 2009 Workshop will feature a comprehensive program ranging from introductory presentations of each research group in the HAROSA KC to meeting forums when future collaborative-research activities will be proposed and discussed. The theme for 2009 HAROSA KC is "HAROSA: A Knowledge Community for doing Distributed and Collaborative e-Researching". The 2009 HAROSA Workshop will be held in Castelldefels, Barcelona, at the IN3 building, November 9th-11th. The IN3 facilities are located in the Castelldefels’ Mediterranean Technology Park (http://www.pmt.cat/location/how-to-get-to-the-park).
Two specific goals of the 2009 HAROSA Workshop are: (a) to present each HAROSA KC group and to give an overview of the research work that each group is developing on any of the topics of the KC, including: vehicle routing, scheduling, system reliability/availability, collaborative systems, distributed and parallel computing, etc.; and (b) to promote an interchange of ideas and collaboration proposals among researchers of the different HAROSA KC groups, e.g.: specific contribution of each group to the KC work-packages, joint projects' proposals, co-advisement of PhD thesis, development of joint articles, sharing of computational resources, visiting programs for professors or students, etc.
The 2009 Workshop will be opened on Monday Nov. 9th by Prof. Manuel Castells, Director of the IN3, and it will be closed on Wednesday Nov. 11th by Mr. Rafael Macau, Director of the Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunication Studies at the UOC.
We look forward to seeing you in Castelldefels for the 2009 IN3-HAROSA Workshop!
